What is Mistral?
Mistral AI is a French AI company founded in 2023 by former employees of DeepMind and Meta. It has positioned itself as the European alternative to OpenAI: strong in efficiency, privacy and European regulation. Mistral has both open-source models and closed-source API models. The most well-known product is Le Chat — Mistral's chat assistant available via lechat.mistral.ai.
