On June 20, 2024, Anthropic released Claude 3.5 Sonnet. The mid-tier model outperformed Claude 3 Opus at lower cost and higher speed.

3.5 Sonnet excelled at coding, reasoning, and image understanding. Anthropic also introduced 'Artifacts'.
Computer use
Later in 2024, the model gained 'computer use': the ability to operate a computer autonomously.
