What is Slack AI?

Slack AI is the collection of AI features integrated into Slack — one of the most widely used business communication platforms in the world. Slack AI helps users summarize missed conversations, answer questions based on channel content and navigate more quickly through large workspaces with many conversations.

How does Slack AI work?

Slack AI works on the content of the user's own Slack workspace. When an employee returns from vacation or a weekend, they can ask Slack AI for a summary of the relevant conversations: "Summarize the key updates in #productteam from the past 5 days".

The Search Answers feature answers questions based on all message history in the workspace: "What was decided about the product launch?" or "Where can I find the onboarding documents?" The AI provides an answer with source references to the specific messages.
