What is Microsoft Power Automate?
Microsoft Power Automate is a low-code automation platform that is part of the Microsoft Power Platform. It enables users to build automated workflows that connect apps, services and data — from simple email notifications to complex approval processes. With the addition of AI Builder, AI features can be integrated into automation workflows without coding.
How does Power Automate work?
Power Automate offers two main modes: cloud flows (automatic workflows based on triggers) and desktop flows (RPA — Robotic Process Automation — for automating tasks in desktop applications). Via connectors, the platform connects more than 1,000 apps and services, including all Microsoft 365 services, Salesforce, SAP and thousands of others.
AI Builder adds AI capabilities to workflows: document processing (invoices, contracts), sentiment analysis, text classification, handwriting recognition and more. Users add an AI Builder step to their workflow and the AI processes the document or text without additional coding.
