What is SciSpace?

SciSpace is an AI tool that makes reading and understanding scientific literature considerably more accessible. You upload a PDF of an article or enter a DOI, after which the AI builds an interactive reading environment. In it, you can ask questions about specific passages, have concepts explained at different levels of abstraction and have mathematical formulas or statistics clarified. This lets you read a paper outside your own field faster or grasp the statistical section in an instant.

How does SciSpace work?

The technology combines document parsing with a language model trained on scientific text. The system indexes the structure of a paper, including sections, tables, figures and reference list, so that every answer is contextually anchored to the right place in the document. As a result, the AI does not refer to a general source, but to the exact passage in your article.

When comparing multiple papers, the AI builds a cross-table based on dimensions you specify, such as population, intervention or outcome measure. The underlying search engine connects to a database of more than 200 million scientific articles, so you can also explore more broadly.
