In July 2025, Google DeepMind announced that Gemini with Deep Think had achieved gold medal level at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), scoring 35 out of 42 points.

The model fully solved five of the six problems, entirely in natural language and within the official time limit — without external tools. A year earlier, it had reached silver.
