AlphaFold 3 predicts the structure and interactions of virtually all biomolecules.
On May 8, 2024, Google DeepMind and Isomorphic Labs unveiled AlphaFold 3, a model that predicts not only proteins but also their interactions with DNA, RNA, and small molecules.
A leap for biology
The results were published in Nature and promised to greatly accelerate drug discovery research. DeepMind made an AlphaFold server available for non-commercial research.

AlphaFold 3 confirmed AI as the engine behind scientific breakthroughs — a line that was crowned with the Nobel Prize later that year.
