Gemma 4 is Google's new open, multimodal model family for edge and cloud.
In late March 2026, Google launched Gemma 4, its new family of open models, with a public announcement in early April.
Open and multimodal
Gemma 4 was released in multiple sizes with up to 256K context, support for more than 140 languages, open weights, and an Apache 2.0 license.
From edge to cloud
The models run both on devices and in the cloud, as Google's open counterpart to Llama and other open models.
