With Dynamic Workflows, Claude Code runs dozens to hundreds of subagents simultaneously in a single session.

On May 28, 2026, Anthropic launched, alongside Claude Opus 4.8, a research preview of Dynamic Workflows in Claude Code. With this, Claude writes its own orchestration scripts that run dozens to hundreds of subagents in parallel within a single session.

From subagent to orchestration

Individual subagents were already part of Claude Code in 2025. Dynamic Workflows takes that to the next level: work is automatically split up and executed in parallel, suitable for codebase-wide migrations, audits, and large-scale refactors.

Who it's for

The preview is available on Enterprise, Team, and Max plans. It fits into the broader shift from AI as a chat partner to AI as autonomous, collaborative agents.
